Strategic Catalyzer for Internationals, New England area—The Strategic Catalyzer(s) will strive to uncover and address unmet needs of most neglected internationals in the New England area. While seeking to be the Presence of Christ among internationals personally through building relationships, the unit will also catalyze others to do the same so that as many internationals as possible can experience and hear the Gospel message. Through partnerships, advocacy and mobilization, the SC will seek to bring all resources to bear upon holistically meeting the needs of most neglected internationals.
International Coordinator or Strategic Catalyzer, Northern New Jersey—This couple or single person will seek to develop ministries among internationals in the northern New Jersey area. Albanians represent a sizable immigrant population in northern New Jersey and should be considered one of the primary people groups this unit will engage. This unit will maintain a researching posture to locate, identify, and engage other segments of the most neglected internationals in addition to Albanians and Persians.
Refugee/Migrant Program Assistant, North Africa--This couple or single will work alongside field personnel in a ministry of support (physically and spiritually) with sub-Saharan refugees and migrants. This will involve interviewing, listening, praying, looking for solutions, and taking action. Action may take the form of humanitarian assistance (food, shelter, lodging, medical care), educational assistance (teaching ESL/French, working with students, young people, and children), or spiritual encouragement (prayer, bible study, attending and supporting refugee/migrant churches). Record keeping and data entry are also a big part of the job. Flexibility, adaptability, willingness to work with different faith backgrounds (particularly Islam) and belief that migration is a human right are a must. Multi-cultural experience and French language functionality are desirable. Length: 2 years
Advocate for International Women San Francisco Bay Area, California--This position is for one woman or a couple. They will focus on international women who are at risk and reside in the San Francisco Bay Area. The main goal is twofold: 1) to advocate among Christians and Christian organizations in the Bay area for international women living in crisis; and 2) to minister directly with international women in need. Length: 2 years
Social Ministries Coordinator, Asheville, NC--This ministry will be working among the Slavic community in Asheville, NC. The Coordinator will work closely with immigrant families from countries such as Ukraine, Russia, Moldova and Belarus. Primary responsibilities may include: coordinating services to families and individuals, Bible clubs and opportunities for ESL programs. It is important that this person be able to provide a positive Christian witness within the predominately Russian-speaking community through the development of relationships with the families. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and able to work independently. They will need excellent computer and telephone skills and have strong organizational skills. Length: 2 years.
International Students Ministry Coordinator San Francisco, California
The Ministry Coordinator would seek to reach the many internationals in an academic setting attend San Francisco State University, including ministries to international students, scholars, visiting professors and their families. The unit will seek out and create opportunities to minister to and build relationships through creative activities that come about through the unit’s gifts and areas of interest. They will seek to share Christ’s love and hope with them. The coordinator would work alongside various organizations and churches to help them continue or start ministry among IAS/students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with student—international student experience would be helpful. They will be flexible, a self-starter, have good interpersonal skills, outgoing personality and the ability to build relationships easily. Length: 2 years
Alfa and Omega Programs Assistant/Immigrant Ministry Coordinator, Spain--The person or couple filling this request will serve in an exciting roll that will provide a structured work environment through service at the Alfa and Omega School as well as the freedom to develop ministries for the immigrants in the community.
Minister to International Students through Churches, North Africa--This person will minister to Christian students in a University system and equip these students for ministry in their context. The student minister will serve on a pastoral team which has a longstanding history of ministry to students. The ideal candidate will have a calling to cross-cultural ministry, be flexible, have a willingness to travel, ecumenical spirit, be a team player, be willing to learn the French language and have strong interpersonal skills.
Director of International Student Ministry Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana (In partnership with ABC)--This is a tremendous opportunity for someone called to do international student ministry. Purdue is a prime setting with nearly 5000 international students, making up more than 1/8 of the student body. These students are underserved by the Christian community. The Baptist Student Foundation is an established Christian community with centrally located facilities within the Purdue campus. This ministry is poised to move to the next level of global involvement. The ideal person will hold a BA/BS degree, a seminary degree or equivalent would be helpful, must have cross cultural sensitivity, be a self-starter, ability to work on teams, friendly, teaching, theological in thinking, and the ability to interpret the ministry to supporters and others. The goal of the position is to develop a ministry with international students that reflects the shared values and priorities of CBF and ABC, utilizing the gifts and talents of the students involved, working with the existing Christian community and the offices at Purdue University.
