Most international students live very thriftily, but their first semester is always the most difficult. It usually takes at least a few months to get an on-campus job because of limited availability. For this reason, we offer lots of fun activities for students when they are just arriving. Food, games, outings around the city and having ethnic snacks on hand are all ways we break the ice with new friendships. Students are very appreciative for these things because the events help to establish community among those who are missing their families and friends overseas.
