Read Mark 9:14-32.

I feel this father's pain. I have been blessed with relatively healthy children. The few health problems they have had have been curable. I wonder if this father wanted someone to share his pain as well as cure his child. Searching, searching, always searching. Hoping one day the situation might change. Not even the followers of Jesus could help. Are you like me? Do you feel the sensationalism of the scene, but little true love and compassion for this boy and his father?

There are many in our world today suffering from evil. Whether they are possessed by it or affected by it doesn't really matter. They suffer as a result as do those close to them. They need someone just to cry for them, love them, and then help them.

Antwone Fischer, who overcame much suffering and evil in his life, wrote the following poem. He finally found himself surrounded by those who loved, truly cared and helped.

Who Will Cry
Who will cry for the little boy
lost and all alone?
Who will cry for the little boy
abandoned without his own?
Who will cry for the little boy
he cried himself to sleep?
Who will cry for the little boy
who never had for keeps?
Who will cry for the little boy
who walked the burning sand?
Who will cry for the little boy
the boy inside the man?
Who will cry for the little boy
who knew well hurt and pain?
Who will cry for the little boy
who died and died again?
Who will cry for the little boy
a good boy he tried to be?
Who will cry for the little boy
who cries inside of me.

Question: For whom are you crying? What will you do about it?
